Kate Hudson and hairstylist, David Babaii, are being sued for for fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract after 220 Laboratories, beauty supply manufacturer, alleged she and her partner stole their ingredients to make their own line of line of hair products. Curses, foiled again! US Magazine says:

In its suit, 220 Laboratories says it was the only supplier of volcanic ash in the United States and that it entered an “oral contract” with Hudson and Babaii in 2006 to develop and manufacture hair products. The company claims that, after revealing their “confidential” ingredient list to Hudson and Babaii in November, the two then took the ash samples and shopped around to find a cheaper deal. 220 Laboratories claims Hudson and Babaii even used promo footage of the 220 team collecting ash with their new manufacturer, Universal. 220 Laboratories is seeking an unspecified amount in damages and attorneys’ fees, as well as an injunction against competitors’ use of their products.”

Kate Hudson shouldn’t be too worried. 220 Laboratories is based in L.A. And laws don’t apply to celebrities in L.A. Kate Hudson could demonstrate the deep cleansing and purifying shine of her shampoo in the mall on decapitated heads on pikes, and at worst, she’d be sentenced to a pedicure.
