If you haven’t been watching new episodes of The X-Files, well, we can’t blame you that much, as they pale in comparison to the classics of yesteryear. But you know who’s still going strong? One of the stars of the show: Gillian Anderson, who plays Dana Scully.

The 49-year-old Emmy winner teamed up with PETA to show her support for animal rights. And how did she do that? Well, by stripping naked, of course. That’s always an easy way to capture everyone’s attention, and has been a PETA staple for some time. Hey, it grabbed our attention. Hell, Anderson even donned some cat ears for the occasion. You know, if that’s something you’re into.

Here’s what Anderson had to say to People about the shoot with PETA:

“I found it liberating to use my body to make an important statement. People tend to look away from anti-fur ads showing mangled animals, but they’re drawn to PETA’s “naked” campaign, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

Anderson has a point: nakedness grabs attention. This ad will actually appear as a 70-foot billboard over Penn Station during New York Fashion Week, which begins this Thursday.

And while Anderson is 49, she’s still quite the looker. She’s also not one to keep her voice from being heard, having supported numerous causes through the years. Here are some more examples of her fighting the good fight via social media:

We will be bold. We will challenge. Let's use our voices. Happy #IWD2017 to us all. #BeBoldForChange #WeWomen

It’s about being true to oneself. We are reaching a time when it’s becoming more and more important – especially for women – to create definite intolerances to that which is not our truth. And this can spread; it is contagious.” – @gilliana photograph by – @kieran_e_scott #peoplelikeus #jointhetalkingcircle #storiesforequality #200women #changeinequality
