She described herself on Twitter in 2013 as “Winner of America’s Next Top Model, Philanthropist, CEO SuperModel Inc., Wilhelmina Model, Master Baker, Southern Belle.” While her hair color may change, she is a natural brunette.

Before gaining recognition, Whitney Thompson grew up in northern Florida, and worked at Chets Creek Elementary School in the before-and-after-school day care programs. She attended Duncan University, Fletcher High School and the University of Northern Florida where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega.

Whitney Thompson has appeared on the cover of “Seventeen” in 2008, “Supermodels Unlimited” in 2008, “Plus Model Magazine” in 2010, “Animal Fair Magazine” and “Jacksonville Magazine.” Whitney Thompson was also the spokesmodel for Smile Stylists, and has modeled for JC Penney, People Magazine, Diana Warner Jewelry, Forever 21, Saks Fifth Avenue, and more.

She also shot a Covergirl commercial with Rihanna.

Whitney Thompson also posed nude with Chenese Lewis for Love Your Body Day 2010. She said, “People don’t realize that we have a billion dollar diet industry working against our self esteem. There is always a new product out selling us happiness if we ‘finally’ shed those pounds…it is important for people to learn to love their bodies, regardless of shape or weight.”

In February 2010, she became a spokesperson for the National Eating Disorder Association. She added, “I wish that America would outlaw airbrushing. If a model can’t take a good photo without being airbrushed then they shouldn’t be a model. Then, people would see that models are real women with flaws and I think that everyone’s self-confidence would benefit.”

On “America’s Next Top Model,” Whitney said, “I think the girls were a little jealous that they had to diet and they had to do this work to be super skinny, and I was like ‘Well, I don’t, and my pictures still came out better than yours.’”

She has since launched a plus-sized dating website called The Big and the Beautiful.

Whitney Thompson resides in New York City.
