She is the daughter of Andalusian emigrants to Barcelona. Her measurements are 32.5-23-35 and standing at just less than 5 8, she is sometimes referred to as a petite model. She is probably best known to American audiences for her appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

Growing up, Vanessa knew she wanted to be a model from the age of 6. With the help of her father, who answered an advertisement in the local paper, Vanessa became a model at the age of ten.
