Tatyana Ali is an American actress, model, and singer. She is known for playing Ashley Banks on the NBC series "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" as well as her roles as Roxanne on "The Young and the Restless" and Tyana Jones on "Love That Girl!"
Even before her life-changing role as Ashley Banks on the now classic NBC series "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," Tatyana Marisol Ali was making waves on television. At age six, she was a regular child performer on the popular children's series "Sesame Street." She then went on to appear on "Star Search" on two separate occasions. While that may already seem impressive considering it all took place before her big break, the multi-talented performer in her was just getting started.
While it is easy to remember someone solely for their most famous accomplishment, Tatyana has certainly not made it easy. By the time her "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" run was coming to an end, she had already recorded her first gold record, titled Kiss the Sky. The following year, she landed a Grammy for her song “Precious Wings” on "The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland" soundtrack. To top that off, she began touring with *NSYNC and The Backstreet Boys at the height of their popularity.
Along with acting and singing, Tatyana also produces her own series, with the more popular of the bunch being "Buppies" and "Love That Girl!" Of course, she still finds time to star on other series such as "The Young and the Restless," where she plays recurring character Roxanne. And that's only scratching the surface, as we haven't even mentioned the films she's starred in through the years, including "Kiss the Girls," "Jawbreaker," and "Glory Road."
Yes, Tatyana Ali truly does it all. The Harvard graduate is a Jacqueline of all trades, so to speak, and continues to impress outside the entertainment world. Her work with organizations such as the Millennium Momentum Foundation and United Negro College Fund inspires young people around the world, and doesn't look to slow down anytime soon.
