Tatiana Gabrielle Maslany is a Canadian actress probably best known for her role on “Orphan Black,” in which she plays multiple clones, all of who have different personalities. She won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for “Orphan Black” in 2013, and was nominated for a Golden Globes Award for Best Actress, TV Drama.
Tatiana Maslany is a mix of Ukrainian, Polish, German, Austrian and Romanian ancestry. She can speak German, French, English and some Spanish.

Growing up, she wanted to be a dancer, and began dancing when she was four years old. She began acting when she was nine. While in high school, she participated in a variety of productions. She graduated in 2003. She did comedic improv for ten years and was part of the General Fools Improvisational Theatre. She is also a certified improv trainer.
Tatiana Maslany said, “There’s something really freeing about improv, that it’s a collective, creative, in-the-moment piece. That’s really exciting and really frustrating, because it’s there and gone. There’s an amazing interaction with the audience that happens because they are very much another scene partner.”
She said she is very close to her family. As for fame, she said, “The whole idea of Hollywood or any of that other stuff that unfortunately goes along with film, that wasn’t part of my upbringing, thankfully.”
In 2004, she appeared in the film “Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed.” Her other appearances include roles on “Parks and Recreation,” “The Nativity” and “Eastern Promises,” among others.
Tatiana Maslany uses music to help her switch between her “Orphan Black” characters. As for her busy work schedule, she said, “I think being idle is quite hard for me to do.” When she read the pilot script, she said, “All I did was want it. I just wanted it. I was completely obsessed.”
She is dating Welsh actor Tom Cullen. When not filming, Tatiana Maslany resides in Toronto, Canada.
