Rosanna Davison described herself on Twitter as “Former Miss World, model, Playboy covergirl, nutritionist, writer, VW ambassador, gym bunny, nerd!” She was the first Irish contestant to win the Miss World title since its inception in 1951.

Her father is musician Chris de Burgh and the song “For Rosanna” on his 1986 album Into the Light was written in her honor. Rosanna Davison went to school in Dublin and was the class prefect before graduating in 2002. In 2006, she graduated from University College Dublin with a degree in Sociology and Art History. She is also studying to become a nutritional therapist.


During 2005 and 2006, she was the official face of “Holiday on Ice,” the travelling ice show. In February 2012, she placed second in a poll to find Ireland’s most desirable Valentines.


Rosanna appeared in the German version of Playboy in October 2012. She then appeared naked in the U.S. version. She became the first ever Miss World to be featured in Playboy. She said, “The shoot I did for Germany was just after January. I had to have a super-healthy Christmas. I had to drink nothing but water – it was all very sad.” She admitted she’s glad she got her pictures taken to look at when “I’m old and grey. Ultimately, I’m proud of myself for pushing my own boundaries.” She added in a separate interview, “I feel it’s important to constantly reinvent your image and explore various challenges.”

As to modeling, she said, “Apart from some fabulous parties, it’s not as glamorous as it looks!”


In July 2013, Rosanna Davison called on Ireland to end its live export trade to Libya because the trip is “a stressful ordeal for the animals…and slaughter methods in Libya are frequently abusive.”


Rosanna Davison resides in Ireland and is currently engaged.
