Rebecca Leigh Mader was born in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England on April 24, 1977. Like most actresses trying to make it in the business, she started out as a model. She became a professional by age 16, and when she moved to New York City, she was eventually signed by the Ford Modeling Agency. It was through them that she did campaigns for such products as L'Oreal, Colgate, and Wella Hair.

By the year 2000, Rebecca had decided it was time to move her career forward and try her hand at becoming a professional actress. Again, like many actresses starting out, her career began with roles on soap operas such as "All My Children," "Guiding Light," and "One Life to Live." Although she was offered a full-on contract for "All My Children," playing the role of Morgan Gordan, she turned it down in favor of a simple 17-episode arc instead.

After continuing to land small roles on television series such as "Fastlane," "Law & Order: Trial by Jury," and "Starved," Rebecca finally made the transition into films, landing roles in movies such as "The Devil Wears Prada," "Hitch," and "Great World of Sound." She also booked a starring role on the series "Justice" for the entire first season. This would all prove to be small potatoes compared to her next television role as Charlotte Lewis on the hit ABC series "Lost," which is the part that truly put her on the map. From then on, TV roles continued to fly in, with Rebecca able to land recurring roles on series such as "No Ordinary Family," "Work It" (even though it was abruptly cancelled), and "Fringe." She also played roles in films such as "The Men Who Stare at Goats" alongside Ewan McGregor and "Iron Man 3."
