Rachel Blanchard is a Canadian film and television actress. She is known best for playing the Cher Horowitz role on the TV series "Clueless," as well as starring in films such as "Without a Paddle," "Where the Truth Lies," and "Snakes on a Plane."
Rachel Louise Blanchard was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on March 19, 1976. Growing up, she attended Havergal College, an independent boarding and day school for girls, in Toronto before moving on to Queens University in Kingston shortly after. While schooling was important to the young blonde, the fact that she was also an aspiring actress trumped all, as she'd been in the spotlight from a very young age, making her television acting debut in a McDonald's commercial before landing her first official television series role on "The Kids of Degrassi Street" by 1984.
During her childhood, Rachel went on to star in a number of popular children's programs including "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" and "Chris Cross." By 1996, however, she began to shed her child actor skin when she was granted the lead role on the hit show "Clueless," which was based on the popular film starring Alicia Silverstone. From here, she continued to star in more adult-themed material such as films like "The Rage: Carrie 2" and "Road Trip." Since then, she has appeared in films and television from all over the map. Some of her more notable films include "Without a Paddle," "Where the Truth Lies," and "Snakes on a Plane," while she has also held major roles on series including "7th Heaven" and "Fargo."
Aside form acting, Rachel is an avid hockey fan having grown up in Canada. She has a pet bull terrier named Wilbur and enjoys playing hockey and rock climbing in her free time. She was also ranked #37 on FHM's 100 Sexiest Girls of 2002 list in the UK edition.
