Monique Ganderton was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on August 6, 1980. From a very young age, it was apparent that she was quite physically gifted, as she achieved top levels in track and field, equestrian show jumping, gymnastics, diving, and skating. She also became a certified ski instructor with ease, and always had an interest in martial arts. As these stories often go, particularly when it comes to pretty girls like Monique, she was soon discovered by a modeling scout and whisked away to Toronto when she turned 18 to start her career.

Of course, as these stories also often go, Monique eventually became fed up with her modeling career as her interest in other hobbies grew. In this case, not only was she interested in writing and planned to pursue a career in journalism, but a chance conversation with actor Sylvester Stallone convinced her it was time to leave modeling behind and pursue the love of being physical in her work. Plus, she'd also witnessed a stunt woman in action on the set of television series that really got her jazzed up to do the same kind of work.

Monique's first official stunt gig came on the film, "The Recruit," starring Al Pacino and Colin Farrell. It was from this gig that she cemented herself as a promising up-and-coming stunt woman, and it lead to steady work from there on out, even opening doors to act, as well. Along with her stunt work, she has acted in over 45 films and counting, with neither career showing signs of stopping any time soon.
