Lena lived near the ocean in Bermuda until she was five, when she moved to England, finally ending up in London in her teens. She fell into acting after being seen by a casting director at a one-off show when she was 17. She has appeared in “The Remains of the Day,” “The Jungle Book,” “The Brothers Grimm,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” and “Waterland,” among others.

Aside from acting, Lena took boxing lessons; she is also a vegetarian and practices yoga. She has suffered from bouts of depression since she was 15. “I was diagnosed when I was 15, and it comes and goes. I may suffer from it once or twice a year, but I now recognize it and deal with it. I don’t use medication because I’m so worried about becoming dependent on it, but I can understand people who do.”

She was married to musician Peter Paul Loughran from 2007 to 2012. She has one child, who “flipped her life in the most amazing way,” Wylie Elliot Loughran.

Lena Headey said, “I almost never get recognized in the street. It’s brilliant. I hate being looked at. Can’t stand it. I know, I know – I picked the wrong career…if you play certain parts you have this nice face painted on you, and then you feel as if you have a responsibility to this idea of being beautiful…but I’m not a babe. I’m not a pin-up.”

She said about “Game of Thrones, “”There are a lot of boobies. Let’s put it like that.” She added, “I’m doing 14 days’ work for Thrones this year, which seems pretty good to me. I’m like an oil-rig worker. The only slight hassle is that it’s quite a long way from LA.” She said she likes that it’s a big cast and “there’s always someone to have a drink with at the end of the day.”

Lena Headey splits her time between homes in London and Los Angeles.
