Born Heather Laurie Holden, but known as Laurie Holden, she’s an actress probably most famous for her role on “The Walking Dead.” Most recently, she landed on the “Chicago Fire” spinoff “Chicago Med.”
Laurie Holden described herself on Twitter as: “I am a storyteller and I love children.” She is otherwise not very active on social media. Born in Los Angeles, but raised in Toronto, she is both an American and Canadian citizen.
Her first role was as a child on “The Martian Chronicles,” when an actress hired to play Rock Hudson’s daughter never showed and Laurie filled in. As a teen, she won The Look of the Year modeling contest.

She later went on to attend McGill University and then transferred to UCLA and received a degree in theatre.
As for her role on “The Walking Dead,” she said, “I really, really, really want to do a silly romantic comedy where I can just have a crush on the guy, trip over myself, and laugh and be goofy. I just feel like all I do is cry, sob, and fight zombies and the bad guys.”
Not just a pretty face, Laurie Holden pursued a degree in Human Rights from Columbia University. She’s said, “I don’t want my tombstone to say actress. I want it to say human being.”
And yet, she’s becoming known for more than just an actress. In 2014, she was part of Operation Underground Railroad, a volunteer organization that hunts down sex trafficers. She went to Colombia and helped liberate 55 sex slaves. Her mission there was to distract the girls.
She said, "What makes me sad is that yes, we got four traffickers, and I hope they fry, but what makes me sad is that so many of these little girls, they don't know any different. I know we did some good tonight. But I know that more needs to be done."
Laurie Holden is currenlty single and resides in Los Angeles, California.
