Lauren Christine German was born in Huntington Beach, California on November 29, 1978. A lover of the theatrical from a young age, her first work as an actress came onstage in productions of both "Oliver!" and "Peter Pan." However, prior to setting out to make a career for herself as a Hollywood actress, she also spent a large chunk of her time at the Orange County High School of the Arts as a dancer. While aspects of her dancing have surely played a role in her current career, she went on to attend USC for theater, as well as studied at the Actor's Studio upon graduation, further cementing her true passion for acting.

Lauren's first feature film role came in 2000's "Down to You," followed by a much more prominent role as Belinda in the 2002 teen romance drama "A Walk to Remember." While she auditioned for the lead in the Michael Bay produced remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" in 2003, the role ultimately went to Jessica Biel. However, she was still cast as the traumatized hitchhiker who sets the events of the film in motion. This role also to playing one of the leads in "Hostel: Part II."

Since her early scream queen days, Lauren has since moved on to starring predominantly on television. Her first major recurring role came in 2005 on "Sex, Love & Secrets," followed by "Happy Town" in 2010. However, it was her role as Lori Weston on the CBS reboot of "Hawaii Five-0" that really began to get her recognition. Soon after leaving that show, she was cast as Leslie Shay on the NBC drama "Chicago Fire."
