Laura Haddock is a British television and film actress. She is known best for her roles on such series as "How Not to Live Your Life" and "Da Vinci's Demons," as well as films such as "Guardians of the Galaxy."
Laura Jane Haddock was born in Enfield, England on August 21, 1985. As a child, she was raised in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, England and attended St. George's School, which was a boarding school with an emphasis on its Christian ethos. As a child, Laura was inspired to become an actress after watching Hayley Mills' performance in the 1960 film, "Pollyanna." By the time she was 17, Laura had decided to leave St. George's and move to London in order to pursue an acting career.
Once in London, Laura began attending the Arts Educational School. Before long, she landed her first acting role on on the television pilot, "Plus One," which in turn lead to minor roles on such series as "The Family," "Strike Back," and "Missing," to name a few. She was also able to nab a variety of series regular roles on such shows as "Honest," "Monday Monday," "How Not to Live Your Life," "Upstairs Downstairs," and "Da Vinci's Demons."
Along with her exceptionally impressive television series resume, Laura has also starred in a number of TV movie and feature film roles. Among them are "The Inbetweeners Movie" (which she was nominated for an Empire Award for Best Female Newcomer), and two Marvel films: "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Guardians of the Galaxy." Even with all of this going on in her life, she has still managed to find the time to start a life together with fellow actor, Sam Claflin, whom she married on July 30, 2013. The couple dated for two years prior to the wedding.
