Lacey Nicole Chabert was born in Purvis, Mississippi on September 30, 1982. She is of French and Scottish descent, as her mother, Julie, is responsible for the Scottish side, and her father, Tony, is actually a native of Louisiana and a French-speaking Cajun at that.  At a young age, Lacey began playing the violin, while also discovering her love of the performing arts in local musical and drama productions. By the time she was 9 years old, she had already starred in a cough syrup commercial, competed as a vocalist on Ed McMahan's "Star Search," and booked a two-year gig playing a young Cosette on Broadway in "Les Miserables."

After landing small roles in a few TV movies and sing-a-long videos, Lacey landed a small role on the soap opera "All My Children," which caught the attention of producers who were currently putting together the cast of a show that would go on to be a huge success on FOX called "Party of Five." The show was successful enough that Lacey was able to move her family to Southern California, where she still currently resides. Her role on the series only led to bigger and better. By 1998, she was starring in the film "Lost in Space," based on the popular '60s television show by the same name.

Along with acting, her incredible voice lead to countless voice acting gigs. They started out very small, with some standouts including the singing voice of the young title character in "Anastasia" and various characters on the Nickelodeon favorite "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters." Eventually, the voice acting gigs got much bigger, and she was not only voicing Eliza Thornberry on the children's cartoon "The Wild Thornberrys," but Meg Griffin throughout the first season of "Family Guy." Unfortunately, she had to quit that job to make more time for her schoolwork, as well as "Party of Five."

Since the end of "Party of Five" and "The Wild Thornberrys," Lacey has continued acting both on and offscreen, with more of a focus on voice acting. Some of her most notable acting roles include parts in the films "Not Another Teen Movie" (2001), "Mean Girls" (2004), and horror remake "Black Christmas" (2006). Her voice acting resume is much more extensive, with prominent roles in the series "The Spectacular Spider-Man" (2008), "Transformers: Rescue Bots" (2011), and "Young Justice" (2011).
