Kristin acted in school plays, but never planned on becoming an actress. She was intent on going to Simon Fraser University for psychology or environmental studies. But in her senior year, a casting director came to her school. The director was looking for an exotic-looking girl. Encouraged by her high-school drama teacher, Kristin auditioned and got the part on Edgemont, a teenage soap opera.

Every year, she goes with three of her girlfriends somewhere in the world. Kristin calls them the wild woman adventure. She said, The original idea was that we would just go as girls. It would be about building our relationship with each other and also challenging ourselves as women and really putting ourselves in circumstances that would push us to grow (complex.com).
