Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in May 1976 to Albert and Carmina, Kelly Monaco comes from a large Italian Catholic family.
She has four sisters. As a teen, she was active in sports, including swimming, track, soccer, as well as drama and speech. After she graduated high school, she went to Northampton Community College for two years and worked as a lifeguard.
Kelly Monaco is probably most recognized for her appearance on "Dancing With the Stars" (which she won) in Season 1. She has since returned for Season 15 " All-Stars.
But her road to fame wasn't easy. As she told OK! Magazine in 2005, Kelly Monaco revealed that she started experimenting with alcohol and drugs between the ages of 11 and 13 and that when she first came to Los Angeles, she lived out of her car for two months and survived on $1 Chinese food. And on one of her first jobs, a would-be rapist drugged her. "I had to get myself out of what could have been a very premeditated rape."
When she was 20, Kelly Monaco sent a packet of photos of herself to Playboy and became Playboy's Playmate of the Month in April 1997. Her measurements are 34D-21.5-31.5. She is still one of Playboy's most popular and searched Playmates on the Internet. After her appearance, she was featured in several Playboy Special Edition magazines. Kelly Monaco also graced the covers of FHM and Maxim, earning places in their "sexiest" lists.
Kelly said, "I don't feel sexy when I'm frail. I like to feel healthy and in shape" (askmen.com).
Kelly segued into acting with her role on "Baywatch" and was often Carmen Electra's body double. She also had smaller roles in "BASEketball," "Idle Hands," and "Mumford." Later, she landed on the soap opera "Port Charles" (for which she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress) and then "General Hospital" (for which she was nominated once again.)
Kelly Monaco also co-hosted the 33rd Annual Daytime Emmys and was one of the judges for the 2009 Miss USA pageant. She also starred in the Las Vegas Planet Hollywood burlesque act "Peepshow."
In 2011, she starred on the reality series "Dirty Soap," but it was cancelled after only one season.
In 2009, Kelly Monaco was involved with the iParticipate charity campaign, which helped beautify a Los Angeles school. In that same year, she went to Kenya as part of the Feed the Children Program.
Kelly Monaco suffers from hearing loss due to scuba diving complications.
