Julia Goldani Telles is an American actress and California native, born in 1995. Her biggest and most recent acting credit is one of Showtime's newer series, "The Affair."
Julia Goldani Telles was born in Los Angeles, California in 1995 to a Mexican-American father and a Brazilian mother. She then spent her earliest years living in Rio de Janiero in South American where she learned ballet before moving back to America in 2000. At the age of five, she and her family moved back to Los Angeles. By age 13, she was enrolled in Manhattan's Professional Children's School.
She studied ballet in a couple of places, namely the School of American Ballet, and performed in a number of well-know ballets, including "Swan Lake," "Sleeping Beauty" and "Nutcracker." Telles suffered tendonitis and other ballet-related hip injuries, forcing her to sideline her dancing at age 15. The logical move for her to fill the void was to study drama.
As early as 2011, not much more than a year later, Telles got her first TV role without headshots, a resume or even any real acting experience. She appeared on the short-lived ABC family show, "Bunheads," whose time started in summer of 2012 and ended in early 2013 after only 18 episodes. That same year, 2012, Telles appered in Nat & Alex Wolff's music video for "Greatest Prize."
After the cancellation of "Bunheads" in 2013, Telles spent 2014 doing short guest spots on shows like "Blue Bloods," "The Carrie Diaries" and "Nurse Jackie" before landing the role of Whitney Solloway on Showtime's "The Affair." Now in its second season in 2015, Telles continues to appear as the daughter to Dominic West of "The Wire" and Maura Tierney of "E.R." The show also stars Emmy nominee, Ruth Wilson, and Joshua Jackson of "The Mighty Ducks."
