Jennifer grew up in Central Texas and was raised by her mother after her parents divorced. Interested in music at a young age, she studied ballet and tap dancing, and by nine was a member of the Texas Show Team. At ten, and after earning the title "Texas Our Little Miss Talent Winner," she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting and singing.

Once in Los Angeles, Jennifer Love Hewitt landed commercials, a part of on "Kids Incorporated," as well as short-lived series "Shaky Ground," "The Byrds of Paradise" and "McKenna." But it was her role as Sarah Reeves Merrin on "Party of Five" that made her a star. She later starred in its spin-off, "Time of Your Life."

Other roles followed, including parts in "Munchie," "Little Miss Millions," "Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit," "I Know What You Did Last Summer," "Can't Hardly Wait," among many others. She found stability with the series "Ghost Whisperer," which ran for five seasons. She later starred in "The Client List," earning her a Golden Globe nomination.

Over the years, she almost landed roles in "Brokedown Palace," "Lolita" and "Romeo + Juliet."

Aside from acting, Jennifer Love Hewitt also sang. Her first album "Love Songs" was released exclusively in Japan; her second album "Let's Go Bang" came out in 1995. Her third album "Jennifer Love Hewitt" didn't make the charts.

Jennifer Love later recorded a single for the "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer" soundtrack, as well as a cover of "I Will Survive." In 2002, she recorded her fourth album with producer Meredith Brooks.

Jennifer also got into writing: comic book writer Scott Lobdell wrote a 5-issue anthology ("Jennifer Love's Hewitt's Music Box") based on her ideas. She wrote "The Day I Shot Cupid," which chronicles her experiences with love and dating. As it was a New York Times Bestseller, she is penning a follow-up.

Jennifer Love Hewitt has appeared in "Sexiest Lists" for Stuff, Maxim and FHM. She has said of her breasts, "I just accepted them as a great accessory to every outfit." She later added, "I would just love once to be called sexy. Just because it would make me something other than cute."

She told The Sun, "I never particularly wanted to act. I just wanted to sing. I have a hard time speaking in public and become very nervous. But when I sing, the nerves go away for some reason.I was confused when I was younger. One minute I was judged to be the girl next door, the next it was the vixen."

Jennifer Love Hewitt lives in Los Angeles, California.
