Gina Gershon is an American actress probably best known for her role in "Showgirls," though she has worked in a variety of projects.
Gina Gershon is a mix of French, Dutch and Russian-Jewish ancestry. She was raised in Woodland Hills, a suburb of Los Angeles, and her parents later moved to Beverly Hills so that Gina could attend Beverly Hills High School. Said Gina, “When not acting, I guess I was acting up, so my parents moved me to the city.”

After Gina Gershon graduated, she attended Emerson College in Boston and later transferred to New York University. She graduated with a bachelor of Fine Arts in 1983. While in New York City, she co-founded the theatre group Naked Angels with Helen Slater.
Though she appeared in a variety of roles, including parts in “Pretty in Pink” and “Cocktail,” Gina Gershon became famous in 1995 for her role in “Showgirls.” She said she made the role campy so that "drag queens would want to dress as my character on Halloween.’”
Maybe from her role in "Bound," Gina Gershon said, “I kinda wish I could be a lesbian. So many girls come up to me all the time, I keep thinking, ‘God, I should be a lesbian.’ But unfortunately, I’m straight.” As for her appearance, she said, “People seem to get weirdly obsessed with my mouth.”
In 2008, she co-wrote a children’s book with her brother entitled “Camp Creepy Time.” That same year, she released a CD with nine songs called “In Search of Cleo.” She has appeared in a variety of projects, including “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Rescue Me” and “Face/Off,” among many others.
In 2008, Vanity Fair claimed that Gina had an affair with former President Bill Clinton, to which Gina said was absolutely false. The magazine, however, stood by its story.
As for turn-ons, she said, “I think smart is sexy. I like smart people. People that are comfortable with themselves I think is very sexy. My cat is really sexy.” As for fellow actresses, she was quoted as saying, “Actresses are nightmares. I don’t hang out with any of them. That’s a problem with my profession. I try not to be like an actress.”
Gina Gershon continues to act and resides in Los Angeles.
