Eva Maria Livia Amurri was born on March 15, 1985 in New York City to celebrity parents Susan Sarandon and Italian director, Franco Amurri. She attended the private day school, Friends Seminary, in Manhattan as a child. She then went on to Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn, and eventually Brown University. She graduated with a major in Italian studies.

Growing up, Eva was no stranger to movie sets, and by 1992, already had her first cameo in then stepfather Tim Robbin's film "Bob Roberts." By 1995, she would have her first actual acting role in the film "Dead Man Walking," which was again directed by Tim Robbins and starred Eva's mother, Susan. Eva played the younger version of her mother's character in the film, something she would do again years later in 2012's "That's My Boy," starring Adam Sandler. After a few minor roles, Eva would again act alongside her mother (although this time not playing a younger version of her) on the TV show, "Friends," as well as the film, "The Banger Sisters."

While Eva made somewhat of a career acting in films with her mother at first, she has managed to venture off that path (while occasionally hopping back on it) in 2004, when she landed a role in the teen comedy, "Saved!," starring Mandy Moore. Her next starring role in the film "Middle of Nowhere," however, again co-starred her mother. Since then, she has made a successful career acting in television. 2009 not only saw a guest spot on the popular CBS series "How I Met Your Mother," but also a recurring role as a stripper and love interest on the Showtime series, "Californication." Since then, she has guested on a variety of shows including "House, M.D.," "Children's Hospital," and "The New Girl."
