Emily Meade was born on January 10, 1989 in New York City. Like many aspiring actresses, her interest in performing started at an early age. By the time she was just 7 years old, she was already competing at the Zecchino d’Oro, an international children's song festival, where she sang the song "Up, over, through and under”. The performance wound up winning her the prize for best non-Italian song.

By 2006, Emily had been cast in her first film titled "The House is Burning." While her acting career then took a little while to bloom, by 2008 she was starring in "Assassination of a High School President " The following year, she finally made the transition to television when she was cast in the TV movie "Back." After this, the roles finally began to come more frequently, and soon enough she was playing guest roles on everything from "Law & Order" to "Boardwalk Empire." By 2014, she landed her biggest recurring role yet on the HBO series "The Leftovers."

Of course, as fruitful as Emily's TV career has been, her film resume is equally impressive. After starting small, she got her first big break in 2010 as the star of the Wes Craven horror film "My Soul to Take." From here, she has gone on to play small roles in major motion pictures such as "Trespass," "Young Adult," and 2014's "That Awkward Moment." Other films Emily has played roles in include "Sleepwalk with Me," "Bluebird," "Gimme Shelter," and "Charlie Trevor and a girl Savannah."
