Daniella Alonso was born and raised in NYC. Her nickname is Danny and she was raised Roman Catholic. She said growing up in NYC, “I was pretty much able to do what and go where I wanted from a young age, so I never felt the need to ‘rebel.’”


She is a mix of Puerto Rican, Japanese and Spanish ancestry. She was born to a Puerto Rican mother and a Peruvian father with Japanese and Spanish heritage.


Growing up, she knew she wanted to be an actress.

Daniella Alonso was “discovered” by Ford Modeling Agency and landed gigs for teen mags such as “Seventeen,” “YM” and “Teen.” Her modeling led her to commercials, especially 20+ for the Spanish market.


She was a Cover Girl for CoverGirl Makeup. In 2006, she ranked #41 in Maxim’s Hot 100 List.


Daniella Alonso said of her “Revolution” character, “I guess there are some similarities. I can be a nice person, but if someone is messing with someone I care about, the tougher side comes out a little more.”


She has also appeared in “Cover Affairs,” “My Generation” and “Friday Night Lights,” among other projects. She said the roles she’s been offered have changed over the years. At first the only roles before were “stereotypical…a Latina gang banger, a pregnant illegal, or maid.”

Daniella Alonso said her most memorable experience in nature was walking through Central Park every day after school. “It’s as if you’re in a different world.”


Aside from acting, Daniella is active in karate and holds a fourth level green belt. “I started with Tae Kwon Do, and then I started taking karate and mixed martial arts. Now the cast and I are studying Krav Maga.” She revealed she’s been knocked out cold twice. “But I think it’s good experience that once, because then you know what to expect, and you’re not scared of getting hit. You just get right back up.”


When asked about the high jinks on the set of “Hood of Horror” with Snoop Dogg, she said, “Yeah, there were [high jinks]. But I don’t think they’re legal, so maybe I shouldn’t talk about it.”


Daniella Alonso is also an animal lover and supports PETA. She also geeks out on football and fantasy football. Daniella resides in Los Angeles.
