Though she grew up in Connecticut in a wealthy neighborhood, Chloe earned money by sweeping the tennis courts of a country club, a club her family could not afford to join. She described herself as a teenager as lonely and depressed.
During one of her many weekend trips to New York City, Chloe Sevigny was spotted by a fashion editor who asked her to intern at their offices. That internship led to a few modeling jobs.
When Chloe would sneak into the city, she’d tell her parents she was staying in Greenwich Village with friends, but really hung out at all-night rave parties and would sleep in parks afterwards.
