Cat Deeley is a British television personality and host of "So You Think You Can Dance" here in the US. She is also a very successful actress, model and singer.
Catherine Elizabeth Deeley was born in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, England on October 23, 1976. As a child, she attended Grove Vale Junior School in Great Barr, Sandwell, then went to Dartmouth High School in Great Barr. An aspiring model, Catherine, or "Cat" as she would eventually adapt in order to more easily book modeling gigs, was a contestant on the BBC modeling competition "The Clothes Show," which led to her being signed by the Storm modeling agency at age 16.
While the modeling agency wanted her to quit her schooling and model full time, she was determined to finish her education, which she did, and graduated from Bishop Vesey's Grammar School in Birmingham at age 18. Modeling didn't hold Cats interest, however, and she soon made her way to television as a veejay for MTV UK in 1997. She then hosted SM: TV Gold, a popular Saturday morning children's show in the UK, from 1998 to 2003, which first put her on the map.

In 2001, Cat was named #7 on FHM's sexiest women list. This lead to higher profile hosting gigs in the UK, from the music competition "Fame Academy" in 2002, to the celebrity look-alike contest "Stars in Their Eyes"in 2004. By 2006, she had made her way overseas to the US, hosting the second season of the hit dancing competition "So You Think You Can Dance?" She went on to do red carpet duty for "Good Morning America," "New Year's Eve Live" in 2007 for FOX, as well as guest roles on series such as "Shake It Up!" and "Life's Too Short." And those are just a select few of so very many hosting and acting gigs.
In her free time, Cat does charity work for UNICEF and Great Ormond Street Hospital. On September 30, 2012, she wed her boyfriend Patrick Kielty as well. The two were married in Rome.
