Bella Heathcote is an Australian television and film actress. She got her start playing Amanda Fowler on the Australian soap opera "Neighbours" before her breakout role in the U.S. as Victoria Winters/Josette DuPres in "Dark Shadows."
Isabella Heathcote was born on May 27, 1987 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, the daughter of a lawyer father. As most actresses do, "Bella" took a shine to the performing arts from an early age, dancing and singing as a little girl before getting more involved with both private speech and drama lessons by the time she was 12 years old, as this is something she began noticing all her friends at the Korowa Anglican Girls' School doing. After that, according to her, "Over the years everyone else dropped out and I just kept going. I loved it."
By 2008, Bella landed her first official acting role in the film "Acolytes." Before long, she was cast in her breakout role as Amanda Fowler on one of Australia's most popular soap operas "Neighbours." The following year in May 2010, she was the recipient of the Australians In Film Heath Ledger Scholarship, an annual award which includes includes mentorship from professionals in the industry and access to the wider AiF network.
Since then, Bella has gone on to star in a variety of film projects, including roles in 2011's "In Time" and "Dark Shadows," "Killing Them Softly," and "Not Fade Away" in 2012. While the stunning young actress continues to wow in her performances time and again, she seems to think that much of her success stemmed from moving to Los Angeles. She was even quoted as saying "I think there is something about L.A., fortunately: once you get one role people think, 'Oh well, someone employed her, so maybe we can.' I mean, that's my idea of it, anyway. 'She can put one foot in front of the other and say a line.'"
