Born in Baltimore, Maryland to Karen, a special education teacher, and Jack, a sociologist, Anna Kay Faris is an actress and comedian.
She was raised in Edmonds, Washington and she has an older brother, Robert. (Per Timeout.com, Anna pronounces her first name to rhyme with Donna, not Vanna. She added, Its really annoying, actually, that my parents did that to me. Im always afraid that people are thinking that Im a little pretentious when I say my name.)
Anna Faris parents encouraged her to act when she was a girl. Her first performance was at age 9 in a run of Arthur Millers play Danger: Memory! She later played Scout in a production of To Kill a Mockingbird. At 14, she landed a commercial about frozen yogurt. She told David Letterman she was a chubby teenager who looked like she was eight years old.

Anna later attended the University of Washington and graduated with a degree in English literature. After college, she landed Lovers Lane, but her big break came in the parody Scary Movie in 2000. Other roles followed, including parts on Friends, Lost in Translation, The Hot Chick, Brokeback Mountain, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Smiley Face (which earned her the Stoner of the Year at the High Times Magazine Stony Awards), and The House Bunny.
Anna described her worst dating experience: I remember one date with this fraternity guy when I was in college. I was feeling a little rowdy, so I grabbed these whole limes off the bar like, three of them and ate them, the rinds and everything. I was gnawing away at these limes as if to say, This is something I do everyday, so get used to it, buddy! And of course, I spent the next four or five hours vomiting.
Anna Faris also appeared in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and did voice acting for Alvin and the Chipmunks movies.
Anna Faris has graced the covers of magazines, including Raygun, Self, Playboy and Cosmopolitan. She has also made a variety of Sexiest Lists.
Anna spoke about her career and the choices between comedy and drama: I really wanted to be a part of dramatic films. I wanted to show this talent, whatever that means, that I could be a dramatic actress as well. But the truth is, a) I dont know if I can, and b) I love doing comedy, and I felt almost a little embarrassed that I succumbed to the pressure. Vanity is really what it is. I feel really grateful that I am in comedy, and I love doing it, and I feel like, Why would I need to apologize?
Anna Faris has a child, Jack, from her marriage to actor Chris Pratt.
