Amy Louise Jackson was born in the Isle of Man, which is a self-governing British Crown Dependency between Great Britain and Ireland. Her parents are Marguerita and Alan Jackson, who is a BBC Radio Merseyside producer, and she also has an older sister named Alicia. Amy and her family moved back to their home in Woolton, Liverpool when she was two years old. When she got older, she attended St. Edward's College, where she attained 10 GCSEs and went on to sixth form to study English Language, English Literature and Philosophy and Ethics.

Being extremely beautiful and having a very exotic, Indian look for someone who is Caucasian and British has led to several advantages for Amy. Starting out her career as a model, she won both the Miss Teen Liverpool and Miss Teen Great Britain pageants, which led to her eventually taking the crown as Miss Teen World in 2009. The winnings included a modeling contract in the US, a wardrobe of various clothes, shoes, and cosmetics, as well as a $50,000 scholarship. Yet, that still wasn't enough. Amy then went on to win the title of Miss Liverpool in 2010, as well as compete in the the Miss England competition the very same year, although she only attained the third place prize that time around. Soon after, she signed her second modeling contract, this time with Boss Model Management.

Her modeling career proved to be just a stepping stone in her soon to be monumental career. During her various modeling successes, director A. L. Vijay spotted her on one of the modeling websites and decided to cast her as the female lead in his film, "Madrasapattinam" (a.k.a. "Madris Town"). Upon its release in 2010, the film was a critical success, and Amy was praised for her amazing performance, despite having no prior acting training. Since then (and due to her Indian look), Amy's career has brown up in India, even though she is still somewhat obscure in her native Britain. She has gone on to star in more Bollywood, Tollywood, and Kollywood films including "Ekk Deewana Tha" and "Thaandavam."
