Abigail Leigh Spencer was born in Gulf Breeze, Florida on August 4, 1981 and raised there as well by parents Lydia and Yancy Spencer III. Her father is a Pensacola surfing legend. Abigail was the middle child of three. Her brothers’ names are Yancy and Spencer.

At the tender young age of 4, Abigail first began competing in beauty pageants. By 11, she had already won the state title, and by 13, the international. Along with pageantry, she also made her way into musical theater, starring in a rendition of “Annie” at 12-years-old. She was also a member of the Pensacola Children's Chorus.

In 1999, Abigail landed her first television role on the soap opera “All My Children,” portraying Rebecca “Becca” Tyree. She even won a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Female Newcomer for her performance. From here, it was a lot small roles on TV shows such as “CSI” and “Gilmore Girls.” In 2006, she finally landed herself the lead role on Lifetime’s original series “Angela’s Eyes.” Unfortunately, it was cancelled the same year.

Since then, Abigail began to explode onto the television scene, appearing in guest roles on a number of major shows such as “The Ghost Whisper,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Bones,” “Private Practice,” “Mad Men,” and “Hawthorne.” Most recently, She’s had a recurring role on the reality dating spoof series “Burning Love,” where she plays bachelorette, Annie. She is also set to star in on Sundance Channel’s first scripted series, “Rectify,” beginning April 22.

As far as feature films go, Abigail really started taking off in 2011, when she starred in the sci-fi adventure “Cowboys & Aliens.” In 2012, she really caught fire, landing roles in “This Means War” and “Chasing Mavericks,” and kept it burning in 2013 with “The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia” and Oz the Great and Powerful.” She is currently producing the film “Wrong Number” alongside James Franco, which she also wrote and is starring in.

In terms of her personal life, Abigail recently split from her husband, Andrew Pruett, who is a businessman. The two were wed in secret back in 2004. They have a child together as well by the name of Roman.
