Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed May Alternate Yearly Releases for Ubisoft

Supposing Ubisoft’s upcoming title Watch Dogs is able to hold its own against all the other titles releasing along with it, then there is the possibility that it along with Assassin’s Creed may start alternating years for new title releases within each series.

In a recent interview with VideoGamer, Creative Director Jonathan Morin was asked whether or not alternating title releases every year could be a possibility for Ubisoft, in which he replied with:

Could be. I don’t know. Right now I’m focusing on Watch Dogs the Game, and we’ll see when it comes out and people can scream their reaction and afterwards we’ll see what happens. There’s no point in being hasty about those things afterwards. Let’s just wait and see and not be cocky about it.

Furthermore, Morin went on to address the thoughts surrounding many people in regards to what chance Watch Dogs will have in substantiating itself against the release of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. This is a very important factor in regards of the lifespan of the series, because seeing as they release simultaneously on next generation consoles, it may be an uphill battle seeing as it is a new IP. Despite the weight of this, Jonathan seems relatively confident based on his statement:

I think that Black Flag and Watch Dogs feel very different, if you had GTA, same thing. Those three are probably the biggest and they’re significantly different games, so from that perspective I’m not concerned. I mean, I’m not in control of what people will feel when the game comes out, but I’ve certainly played pretty much all of them and they feel pretty different in nature so I’m not concerned about it.

So with this, all of you Ubisoft fans are going to be the deciding factor along with countless others that will be introduced to these new gaming worlds. Remember to keep checking back for more information on these titles as they near release.
