Watch ‘The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air’ Theme Get Recreated In GTA V

With Grand Theft Auto V now installed on PCs around the world, one video editing genius has used their love of ’90s television to recreate the immortal opening titles of “The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” using the game’s video editing software, and the results are beautiful.

YouTube user Merfish’s “The Fresh Prince Of Rockford Hills” video (below) is a shot-for-shot recreation of the original, with GTA V Franklin Clinton standing in for Will Smith.

This being GTA V though, strange glitches and hacks are in abundance for comedic effect. The recreation of the basketball court and taxi scenes are pretty spot on despite the glitches, but we won’t ruin the ending for you, except for saying it’s more explosive than the original.

Merfish has previously used the GTA V engine to recreate the opening themes of shows like “Family Matters”, “Full House”, and beloved childhood favourites “Arthur” and “Franklin”, complete with a little bit of GTA-approved stylised violence of course.

Catch Merfish’s “The Fresh Prince Of Rockford Hills” video, below, alongside the YouTuber’s recreation of the opening theme to “Arthur”, and a fan-made GTA V recreation of Jackass, starring Trevor Phillips, right here.
