The Simpsons’ Nancy Cartwright Pulls Out Of Supanova 2015

Just days away from the Sydney and Perth legs of the 2015 Supanova Pop Culture Expo, voice actor Nancy Cartwright, best known as the woman behind Bart Simpson, has announced she will not be able to attend the event, citing recording commitments for a new season of The Simpsons.

In a letter to Supanova Event Director Daniel Zachariou, Cartwright has said she looked forward to visiting Australia, but producers of The Simpsons have asked her to return to work, which clashes with her scheduled Australian appearances.

“As you may have heard we have been playing catch up on the show,” Cartwright said in her letter.

“I am so disappointed that I cannot visit with my fabulous fans down under this time! I so thank you for your invitation and for your very kind consideration of me. Hopefully, we will be able to plan another Australian event for my participation in the near future.”

With a sizeable hole now in the Supanova schedule, Zachariou has said, “While this is obviously a blow to our fans of Nancy and The Simpsons, we’re fortunate to still be hosting our biggest line up ever with an amazing cast bursting at the seams from the worlds of film, TV, anime, cartoons, comics, wrestling, authors and the internet.

“We’ll also make sure, in conjunction with our ticketing partners Moshtix, that any Nancy Cartwright specific pre-purchases are refunded ASAP.”

The 2015 Supanova Pop Culture Expo hits Sydney from 19th to 21st June, and Perth from 27th to 28th June. Read Nancy Cartwright’s full letter to Supanova’s Event Director below, and for more information, visit the Supanova website.

Dear Daniel,

First of all let me start off by saying thank you! My team has conveyed how hard you have worked on getting me to your show and how accommodating you have been to make this appearance happen. I greatly appreciate all of your, and your team’s, efforts for me to be with you all in Australia.

I’ve looked forward to visiting your lovely country again and all of the wonderful fans I am sure would be expecting me.

Sadly, you should know I’ve received the below message from The Simpsons Producers and am unable to travel to Australia. As you may have heard we have been playing catch up on the show.

I am so disappointed that I cannot visit with my fabulous fans down under this time! I so thank you for your invitation and for your very kind consideration of me.

Hopefully, we will be able to plan another Australian event for my participation in the near future.

Please give my warmest and best wishes to Bart’s fans! And again, my sincerest apologies to you.

With warmest regards,

Nancy
