STARZ, History & FX Converge on San Diego Comic-Con

While some movie studios have pulled back on their Comic-Con presence, the world of TV can more than pick up the slack.

STARZ has announced that it is bringing Outlander and Ash vs. Evil Dead to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International. The much anticipated Ash vs. Evil Dead panel will bring in director/executive producer Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, Lucy Lawless, and Rob Tapert on Friday, July 10 in Room 6A. Personally, I think that Comic-Con will need a bigger room for that one. But space is always at a premium at this convention.

On Saturday, July 11, executive producer Ronald D. Moore, author Diana Gabaldon and series stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan will be on hand for the Outlander panel in Ballroom 20 at 4pm.

Not to be outdone, History announced that Vikings will also have a panel at Comic-Con on Friday, July 10, with series stars Travis Fimmel, Katheryn Winnick, Clive Standen, and Alexander Ludwig. Additionally, History will put on two Vikings-themed events in San Diego’s Gaslamp district during the convention.

But FX may have the grandest Comic-Con plans of them all. On Sunday, July 12, FX will invade Hall H with two blockbuster panels. At 12:30pm, Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story and Scream Queens will share a panel with stars from both series. And at 3:30pm, FX will wrap up Comic-Con with a 90 minute panel featuring Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, The Strain, and The Bastard Executioner. Stars from both Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll and The Strain will be on hand, while Sons of Anarchy creator, Kurt Sutter will show off his new series, The Bastard Executioner for the first time.

FX’s Archer will also have another panel at Comic-Con, on Friday, July 10 at 5pm in the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel. The entire Archer voice cast will be there, including H. Jon Benjamin, Jessica Walter, Aisha Tyler, Judy Greer, Chris Parnell, Amber Nash and Lucky Yates; in addition to executive producers Adam Reed and Matt Thompson.

San Diego Comic-Con International 2015 begins on Thursday, July 9.
