Yahoo Wants Community Season 7

Community defied all expectations by surviving five seasons on NBC and one season on Yahoo Screen. Today’s sixth season finale of Community seemed like a definitive ending episode, barring another resurrection.

But according to Deadline, Yahoo Screen might not be done with Community just yet. Yahoo released a statement that read “With the season six finale of Community airing today, we’re continually excited by how much fans are engaging with the series. Now that all episodes are available for binge viewing, stay tuned for how we keep Community delighting its fans.”

Deadline also reported that Yahoo and Sony Pictures TV are talking about an order for more episodes, but nothing is definitively happening yet. Series creator, Dan Harmon wrote on his twitter account that he is taking a vacation now that the sixth season is over. “I’m gonna delete my Twitter app and take a couple weeks off the internet and no interviews and I love you.”

If Community does manage to return, it would likely be without Ken Jeong, who will be headlining a new ABC comedy series called Dr. Ken this fall. However, Danny Pudi has left the door open for his return, while Joel McHale appeared on Conan last night and he said that he would return if Harmon wrote script for the Community movie or if Yahoo wants another season.
