New Doom Trailer is the Very Definition of a Teaser

A new trailer for Doom has released and, with it clocking in at 11 seconds long, it’s the very definition of a teaser.

The short clip, which shows a monster wearing a backpack firing rockets before cutting to the familiar Doom logo, was released in order to promote a worldwide gameplay reveal at Bethesda’s E3 showcase, which will take place on June 14th at 7pm PT.

Developed by id Software, the game formerly known as Doom 4 will reportedly return to the series’ roots, but you wouldn’t know that from this trailer as it’s ONLY ELEVEN SECONDS LONG. I get that Bethesda would want to advertise their E3 showcase, but that’s what press releases are for. 

Come to think of it, this might be the shortest teaser trailer I’ve ever seen. Out of its 11 seconds, only 2 of those seconds consist of game footage. What is the point?
