Pacific Rim Comic Book Coming From Legendary Comics

In two years, Guillermo del Toro’s sequel to Pacific Rim will hit theaters. But there will be more Jaeger versus Kaiju action this fall.

Legendary Comics has announced a four issue Pacific Rim comic book series by writer Joshua Fialkov (I, Vampire) and artist Marcos Marz (Batman: Confidential). The miniseries will be called Pacific Rim: Tales from Year Zero, and it will delve into previously untold stories about the war against the giant monsters known as Kaiju with never before seen Jaegers.

Pacific Rim screenwriter Travis Beacham is contributing stories to the comic book, which is “presented by” del Toro. Pacific Rim: Tales from Year Zero will be published in November 2015, but Legendary is already running a contest on PacificRimComicArt.com which gives fans a chance to win one of Marz’s original art pages from the miniseries.

Legendary Comics also announced two other comic book series debuting this fall: Black Bag, a six issue miniseries by iZombie co-creator Chris Roberson and artist JB Bastos, and Cops For Criminals, a five issue miniseries by Steven Grant (The Punisher) and artist Pete Woods (Action Comics).
