Fans of the long-running hit broadway musical Wicked have a reason to rejoice, because they’ll hopefully be getting their hotly-desired film adaptation next year.
Or will they? Producer Marc Platt (Into the Woods, Wanted) says the developing process of the movie has begun, and that 2016 is indeed the plan, but that he’s not entirely sure if it’ll actually make the 2016 deadline.
It’s more of a loose goal, and he goes on to essentially say that they’ll take their time if needed to really scrutinize the source material so they get it right. There’s a whole lot of Wicked fans out there, so disappointing them after waiting for a film adaptation for so long would be disastrous.
