Cam Newton Hospitalized After Car Accident

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was involved in a serious car accident Tuesday afternoon in Charlotte.

Little details are known at this time, but initial reports say that Newton’s truck overturned on the Church Street bridge over I-277 — a second car was also involved. Newton was then transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Jonathan Jones, a Panthers reporter for the Charlotte Observer, was seemingly the first to break the news on Twitter.

We will update this as more details emerge.
