Elon Musk’s SpaceX is Using Satellites to Bring Incredibly Cheap Internet to Everyone

Elon Musk has confirmed that his company SpaceX is currently embarking upon a new project, which will see him launch internet-satellites that will provide very cheap internet to households worldwide.

Musk confirmed the project via Twitter, writing: “SpaceX is still in the early stages of developing advanced micro-satellites operating in large formations. Announcement in 2 to 3 months.”

When he was fielded a question about the project following his announcement, Musk replied that the internet provided by the micro-satellites would be “unfettered” and would be available at a “very low cost.”

A report previously published by the Wall Street Journal suggested that Musk would launch 700 satellites in total, though Musk has now stated that the report was untrue. He has still yet to elaborate upon the exact scale of the project, though if everything goes to plan Musk could be on the verge of ushering in a new era for the internet age, one which isn’t restricted by Comcast et al.
