Get Interactive With Your Horror Movies Via Voyeur

Voyeur is a new interactive app that allows viewers to have an actual say in the outcome of stories thanks to its creator: CineApp Inc.

As their official website explains: “CineApp, a first-of-its-kind interactive and personalized mobile TV platform, bringing you, the audience, into the story where your identity – your photos, your friends, your name – make you a character and your choices influence the way the story unfolds.”

In the horror version of the app, the main character Ash finds herself trapped in an abandoned orphanage with a madman on the loose, and only a stranger can help her survive (you!). Directed by Isaac Cravit (“SOLO”), produced by Jordan Walker (“THE PRIVILEGED”) and written by Ravi Steve and Jeff Geddis, Voyeur is a story that reaches both horror fans and tech-savvy gamers.

“We take your profile – basically your name, your friends, your photos – and weave it into the story to make you a character,” said Oliver Moorhouse, founder and creative director of CineApp, to The Globe and Mail. “We’re trying to play that line between gaming and storytelling.”

“When people really get into stories, they’re sort of engrossed in them. They want to talk to the actors, get involved in it, and what better way to get involved than to actually be a character?” Moorhouse said in another interview with The Canadian Press.
