10 Questions With Bryce Menzies

It might be difficult to find someone as passionate about off-road racing as Bryce Menzies.

Menzies, 27, knows what it takes to be successful behind the wheel of an 800-horsepower, 4,000 pound truck and his career achievements pretty much say it all. The Las Vegas native has earned a sponsorship with Red Bull, taken home three TORC (The Off-Road Championship) titles, two Baja 500 wins and more. But Menzies knows the sport is as much about physical toughness as it is mental toughness.

A lot [of mental preparation] is when we’re getting ready for practice, just to stay focused, stay calm and to make sure we are ready to go — to kind of focus on the moment,” Menzies admitted in an interview. “And then go out and do that instead of getting all worked up. I think after these couple years of racing, I’ve worked into that.”

Off-road racing is all business for Menzies but even for a driver that lives, eats and breathes the sport, time off is important. Thankfully, he was kind enough to take time out of his offseason schedule to speak with us and answer some rapid fire, behind-the-scenes questions.
