Comic-Con 2014: First Picture of Ben Affleck as Batman Revealed

It might be shadowy. There might be five o’clock shadow. But Batman lurks in the shadows and doesn’t sleep. So the first official photo of Ben Affleck as Batman has surfaced and even though it’s difficult to make out, it’s appropriate. You thought you already saw the first photo of Ben Affleck as Batman? Who knows! The truth is in the stubble. Trying to at least withstand the onslaught of Marvel news and heresy from the wings of Comic-Con, Warner Brothers fluttered this photo down from the rafters.

Now, Superman: is he Batman’s supposed nemesis this time around? He’s already been seen. But if you need a refresher of what Henry Cavill looks like, set against the harsh gray tones of Zack Snyder’s universe of new justice, that’s down below as well.

Look for more news from Warner Brothers, as they don’t want their universe-building tactics to get drowned out by the already established (and growing) Marvel Universe. The rivals also share the same panel day: Saturday. Warner Brothers kicks off the day at 10:00am and Marvel Studios finishes it at 5:30pm. Heads will explode during and after both.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will hit theaters on May 6, 2016; expect future first looks at Gal Gadot (as Wonder Woman), Jesse Eisenberg (as Lex Luthor) and Jeremy Irons (as Alfred) to come before then. Maybe even a few this weekend.

Can’t wait? Here are some other folks in costumes:
