Harley-Davidson promises to introduce something on June 19 that will change the motorcycle giant forever.
A special promo video offered up as a hint of what’s to come features a lonely Route 66 that’s disturbed by the high-pitched whine and wind-rushing whoosh of a passing black shape. I’ve heard that whine before — most recently on the Isle of Man during my coverage of the TT. It’s a far cry (literally) from the throaty rumble of a V-Twin. So, all signs point to an electric engine coming out of Milwaukee.
There’s no confirmation of all of this yet, so there’s guesswork involved. Still, if I’m right (and I’m not the only one theorizing this), Harley-Davidson managed to pull of the R&D on a new electric bike in secrecy.
