Quentin Tarantino & Matt Wagner Team Up for Django & Zorro Crossover

Last month, DC Comics and Dynamite Entertainment released Batman ‘66 Meets The Green Hornet. But their next project together is even more unexpected than that one.

Dynamite and DC have jointly announced a new crossover that will feature Quentin Tarantino’s Django and Zorro, one of the first costumed heroes in fiction. Tarantino will be co-plotting the Django/Zorro comic with writers Matt Wagner and Reginald Hudlin.

Wagner is best known for his creator owned comic, Grendel, in addition to his work on Mage, Batman and several Zorro comics for Dynamite. Hudlin previously wrote Black Panther and Sensational Spider-Man for Marvel, in addition to the first Django Unchained comic that adapted Tarantino’s first draft of the film.

In a statement, Tarantino said “I’m very very excited about both this story and the opportunity to work with Matt.  It was reading his Zorro stories that convinced me what a good idea it was to join these two icons together.  And the story idea we came up with is thrilling, and I think will be an exciting new chapter for both characters.”

An artist for the Django/Zorro comic was not announced, but the project is expected to premiere later this year.
