‘The Walking Dead’ Promotes Three For Season 5

Last Sunday’s fourth season finale of “The Walking Dead” left Rick’s newly reunited group in a cliffhanger. But we now have a pretty good idea about who will make it out of Terminus alive.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alanna Masterson (pictured above), Christian Serratos and Andrew J. West have all been promoted to series regular for “The Walking Dead” Season 5. Masterson made her “Walking Dead” debut in the sixth episode of the season as Tara, a young woman who was part of the Governor’s surrogate family before his disastrous attack on the prison. In recent episodes, Tara has been a loyal ally to Glenn.

Serratos plays Rosita, another new member of the survivors who was recently introduced alongside Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Eugene (Josh McDermitt). Cudlitz and McDermitt were already promoted to regulars during the fourth season.

West made his first appearance on the series during the fourth season finale as Gareth, one of the leaders of Terminus. If West is sticking around as a series regular, then it means the Terminus storyline won’t be resolved quickly when the fifth season picks up.

Prior to her role on “The Walking Dead,” Masterson appeared in “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” “Malcolm in the Middle,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “First Day.” Serratos is best known for appearing in the first four Twilight films, in addition to her TV roles in “American Horror Story,” “Hannah Montana” and “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” on ABC Family.  West is also an ABC Family veteran, from his stint on “Greek.” He has also appeared on “Suburgatory,” “Castle” and “Body of Proof.”

“The Walking Dead” Season 5 will return to AMC in October.
