Super Bowl 2014: The 10 Best Ads

Radio Shack: The Phone Call

The ‘80s are back, as Alf, Chucky, Hulk Hogan, Dee Snider, Sgt. Slaughter, Dorothy Hamill, Kid ‘n Play and that one guy from “ChiPs” invade a Radio Shack and strip it down to nothing!

I love that so many of these iconic ‘80s personalities actually went along with the joke.

Audi: Doberhuaha

Selling the Audi brand this year is an amusing spot that imagines what would happen if someone crossbred a a Doberman Pincer and a Chihuahua.

Toyota Highlander: Terry Crews & The Muppets

Former NFL star Terry Crews makes the mistake of pulling over for a car full of Muppet rock stars, who apparently shared some puppet drugs with him.

Chrysler: America Will Build Your Car

Remember last year’s memorable spot with Clint Eastwood? It was the one about the indomitable spirit of the automotive industry and the people of Detroit.

Chrysler’s newest campaign with the iconic Bob Dylan carries that theme again this year. And it still works.

Coca-Cola: It’s Beautiful

Coca-Cola is not the first soft drink company to equate a love of its product with patriotism and love of country. But this year’s commercial may be the first to make a real attempt to touch on the various cultures within the United States as the song “America the Beautiful” is played in several different languages.

That’s why it’s disheartening to see the racist blowback from this ad on twitter. Apparently we still have a long way to go before something like this and a bi-racial family in a Cheerios commercial can pass by without people saying stupid and hateful things.

All of that aside, this was one of the most well crafted ads of the 2014 Super Bowl.

And now it’s your turn to tell us which commercials from this year’s Super Bowl should have made the list. Share your favorites in the comment section below!
