Winnipeg Gets Bruno Mars, Family Feud, And Funding

Winnipeg has a lot to look forward to: a Bruno Mars concert, the classic game show “Family Feud,” and increased funding for festivals.

Bruno Mars will be playing in Winnipeg as part of his North American trek “The Moonshine Jungle Tour.” Recently given the Billboard’s Artist of the Year distinction, Bruno Mars will also be stopping in Ottawa, Calgary, Saskatoon, Montreal, and Toronto.

The popular TV game show “Family Feud” will be coming to Winnipeg, however this is the more recent touring show based on its recorded counterpart. It will be at the Pantages Playhouse Theatre March 18th.

Finally, the Winnipeg Folk Festival and eight other Winnipeg-based arts organizations will be getting more than $250,000, from just over $1 million in federal funding (CBC News). “Canadian identity is very much linked to arts and culture,” said Minister of Canadian Heritage and St. Boniface MP Shelly Glover. “But more than the good feelings that we get from arts and culture, more than the quality of life that it provides to all of us, it produces 630,000 jobs in this country.”
