So imagine another How I Met Your Mother series … but with girls! We can only imagine the pitch behind the news, reported Thursday by Crave’s ComingSoon.net, that CBS is considering a spinoff of their comedy hit called How I Met Your Father.
HIMYM, starring Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan, is in its ninth and final season and naturally, CBS is looking for a way to not let that lightning get out of the bottle.
As expected, How I Met Your Father will have a female lead. None of this is yet official, and most spinoffs haven’t really worked since the early 80’s (looking at you, After M.A.S.H.), so we will have to wait and see what comes of all this.
