Watch The First Trailer For Frank Darabont’s ‘Mob City’

Following Frank Darabont’s controversial departure from “The Walking Dead,” TNT was quick to sign Darabont to create an adaptation of John Buntin’s book “L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City.”

Although Buntin’s book came out before the “L.A. Noire” video game, Darabont stated that Rockstar Games threatened to sue TNT unless the name was changed. So Darabont’s “LA Noir” became “Lost Angels.”

Earlier today, TNT announced that “Lost Angels” will now be known as “Mob City” when it debuts later this year. The six episode first season is being billed as an “event series” that reunites Darabont with former “Walking Dead’ stars Jon Bernthal and Jeffrey DeMunn. “Mob City” takes place in Los Angeles during 1947 just as the war between the LAPD led by Police Chief Willie Parker (Neal McDonough) and mobsters Mickey Cohen (Jeremy Luke) and Bugsy Siegel (Ed Burns) escalates. Bernthal plays Joe Teague, a police detective caught in the middle of their struggle, while DeMunn will portray Detective Hal Morrison, the head of the LAPD’s mob task force.

Alexa Davalos,  Milo Ventimiglia, Gregory Itzin and Robert Knepper also star in “Mob City.” TNT has unveiled the first full trailer for “Mob City” that features a glimpse of most of the major characters and special guest star, Simon Pegg; who will be appearing in the pilot episode.

“Mob City” will premiere on Wednesday, December 4 on TNT.
