Cary Elwes Enlists In USA’s ‘Horizon’

Back in December, it was announced that USA had given a cast-contingent pilot order to Gale Anne Hurd’s (“The Walking Dead”) “Horizon.” Now, three more actors are in place.

Deadline is reporting that Cary Elwes, Taylor Handley and Mark Famiglietti have all joined the cast of “Horizon” opposite Ruth Bradley. Bradley plays Lauren, a secretary at the FBI during World War II who begins a clandestine investigation into her husband’s disappearance after an apparent battle between U.S. forces and alien invaders in the Pacific.

Handley will play Lauren’s husband, George Howl while Famiglietti portrays Will “Sparks” Sparkman, an FBI agent with a huge crush on Lauren. Elwes will step into the role of Max Hartman, “a mysterious man who leads a double life in wartime DC.”

Elwes is best known for his performances in The Princess Bride, Glory, Robin Hood: Men In Tights and two of the Saw films. However, Elwes also had recurring roles on “The X-Files” and “Psych.” Handley’s previous TV stints include “Dawson’s Creek,” “CSI,” “The OC” and “Vegas.” Famiglietti has also appeared extensively on television, with guest roles in “Bones,” “CSI: Miami,” “Cold Case” and a larger role on “FlashForward.”

“Horizon” was created by “Burn Notice” screenwriter, Bridget Tyler. If it goes to series, a 2014 debut on USA seems likely.
